Oxygen bleaching delivers oxidising power through peroxide chemistry rather than chlorine, which is what makes it colour-safe and chloride-free.
The trade-off is temperature: chlorine bleach works cold, peroxide systems generally do not without help. Formulating around that — activator, dose, wash temperature — is the whole design question.

Sodium Percarbonate A dry, stable adduct that releases hydrogen peroxide on contact with water. It ships as a solid, which is the practical advantage over handling liquid peroxide.
Temperature dependence Percarbonate needs heat or an activator to reach full bleaching effect, which is why cold-wash formulations pair it with a bleach activator rather than raising the dose.
Sodium Persulphate A stronger oxidiser used where percarbonate is not aggressive enough — including specialist cleaning and surface preparation duties.
