Flame Retardant Synergists

Antimony-based synergists that multiply the effect of halogenated flame retardants in polymer compounds.

A flame retardant synergist is not a retardant in itself. It amplifies a halogenated system so the compound reaches its rating at a lower total additive loading.

That trade is the reason it exists: less additive means more polymer, and more polymer means the mechanical properties the part was designed around survive the flame retardant package.

What a synergist does It carries little flame retardancy alone. Paired with a halogenated retardant it forms antimony halides in the flame zone, so a much smaller total loading reaches the same rating.
Why loading matters Every part of flame retardant displaces polymer and costs mechanical properties. Reaching the rating with less additive is the whole point of the synergist.
Handling Supplied as a dry material for compounding. Dispersion quality drives performance — poorly dispersed synergist gives inconsistent results across a moulding.
