A trace impurity that would be invisible in an industrial process shows up as a baseline shift or a ghost peak on an instrument. That is why analytical grades are defined by what they do not contain.

Four grades, one molecule Acetonitrile is stocked as HPLC and HPLC Gradient Grade; methanol as AR, HPLC and Gradient. LR covers synthesis work. What separates them is water content, UV cut-off and residue on evaporation — certified per lot.
Gradient grade for LC-MS Gradient Grade is specified for UV transparency across the wavelength range — an absorbing impurity appears as a ghost peak when the gradient runs. It is the grade LC-MS work calls for.
Synthesis grades Stabilised THF and synthesis-grade cyclohexanone are stocked alongside the analytical grades — the same molecules, specified for reaction work rather than for detection.
Bench pack sizes Bottles of 500 ml, 1 L, 2.5 L and 4 L under our own Thomas Baker brand — a different supply and documentation problem from bulk chemicals, and one we run as its own line.
